Demokratie in Gefahr?

Ein hochkarätig besetztes Symposium betrachtet aktuelle Entwicklungen in Griechenland und Ungarn

Der Frage nach der Krisenfestigkeit der Demokratie in Europa – mit speziellem Fokus auf Griechenland und Ungarn – widmet sich ein Symposium am 15. und 16. Juni 2015 an der Uni Graz. Auf Einladung von Ass.-Prof. Dr. Klaus Poier vom Institut für Öffentliches Recht und Politikwissenschaft beleuchten Prof. Dr. András Inotai, Direktor a.D. des Instituts für Weltwirtschaft an der Ungarischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, Dr. Jens Bastian, freier Wirtschaftsberater bei Macropolis in Athen, Dr. George Tzogopoulos von ELIAMEP – Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy in Athen, sowie Prof. Dr. Franz-Lothar Altmann, Assoziierter Professor an der Universität Bukarest, aktuelle Entwicklungen in den beiden Ländern.
Den Eröffnungsvortrag hielt Vizekanzler a.D. Dr. Dr.h.c.mult. Erhard Busek, Jean-Monnet-Professor an der Uni Graz. Die Professur wurde ihm von der EU zur Unterstützung seiner umfangreichen Aktivitäten für die Europäische Integration verliehen.
