Professor Munin has a wide range of expertise in international trade law, EU–Israel relations, Israeli public policy, regional cooperation, and experiential legal education. She has extensive international teaching experience as a visiting professor across Europe and beyond. Before academia, Nellie served as a legal adviser at Israel’s Ministry of Finance and as Minister for Economic Affairs at the Mission of Israel to the EU.
Nellie's research project in Graz explores whether the Barcelona Process can be revitalized to strengthen cooperation between the EU and Middle Eastern countries. She hopes to develop it with Graz scholars in international law and social competences, combining legal analysis with negotiation and trust-building perspectives, and examining whether Austria’s neutrality within the EU may offer advantages for regional dialogue.
Alongside academic writing, Nellie writes prose and poetry - complementary ways of exploring how people and societies respond to conflict, change, and possibility.
