Hazhar Jamali is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich, working at the Institute for International Law and Comparative Constitutional Law. His research focuses on the intersection of climate change and human rights. Originally from Kurdistan, his background has shaped his curiosity about how law connects with people’s everyday struggles and hopes. During his stay in Graz, Jamali will conduct research on the potential and limits of legal remedies at the European Court of Human Rights to address the challenges of climate change.
Jamali chose Graz because of ClimLaw: Graz’s vibrant community and the opportunity to exchange ideas with inspiring colleagues. Beyond research, he is looking forward to discovering the city and its culture. Jamali can be reached at hazhar.jamali(at)ius.uzh.ch
