Students who are enrolled in the 18W version of the diploma program as of 01.10.2022 have the opportunity to complete it in the 18W curriculum version until the end of the transition period on 30.09.2027. The prerequisite for this is continuous enrolment (leave of absence is also possible).
Students who have interrupted their diploma studies in Law will automatically be transferred to the current curriculum version upon re-enrolment.
Voluntary transfer to curriculum version 22W is possible at any time during the enrolment period at the Admissions Office.
How does it work?
- Fill out the transfer form. If you have any questions, the FV JUS will be happy to provide initial advice.
- Also ask the tax office / student aid office whether a transfer could have financial consequences.
- If you have decided to transfer voluntarily, you must apply to the Admissions Office during the general admission period. To do so, please send an e-mail with this suggested text to studienabteilung(at)uni-graz.at. ATTENTION: All credits earned up to the date of transfer must be validated in UNIGRAZonline.
- After transferring and paying the required semester fee, send the transfer form and any open questions to rewi.studienplanwechsel(at)uni-graz.at.
- You will then receive a notification of completion to your student e-mail address.
Our tips
- To get an overview of all the required courses and which of them still need to be completed after the transfer, use the examination register in parallel to the transfer form.
- Please note that we also need a few working days to process your transfer application.
- Pay the prescribed semester fee as early as possible.
FAQ
What happens to credits that are not included in the equivalence list for 22W?
If there is no equivalent in the equivalence list for a course that has already been completed, you can apply for an individual review of its creditability via the recognition procedure.
Is it necessary/useful to complete courses after 18W that are no longer compulsory in 22W (especially Roman Law)?
This depends on the progress of your studies. If you have completed the first study section before transferring to the new curriculum version 22W, more credits could be credited according to the equivalence list for version 22W than if the first study section was not completed. The decision to attend such courses is therefore up to the students themselves.
Does the semester count for the eligibility period of the sections start at 'zero' again?
The BMBWF has stated that the semesters will continue to be counted after the transfer, as it is still the same field of study.
Are the enrolments automatically set to 'zero' after the transfer?
Yes, this happens automatically.
Do I have to take the diploma examination after transferring?
The transitional provisions in Curriculum 22W under § 8 no. 3 stipulate that students who have already successfully completed at least five subject examinations in Curriculum 18W before transferring can take the diploma examination in the form of a defensio. All students to whom this does not apply must take the diploma examination.
All students who are in curriculum version 19W as of 01.10.2026 will automatically be subject to version 22W at the beginning of the winter semester 2026.
Prior to this, a voluntary transfer is possible during the enrolment period; this must be notified to the Admissions Office in good time.
Please note: a transfer is final and cannot be reversed!
As soon as the curriculum version 22W appears on your business card, please fill out the transfer form , all courses completed in the curriculum 19W will then be assigned by the Dean's Office.
You will then receive an e-mail informing you that the courses have been assigned. Please check that the assignment is correct and let us know if anything is wrong!
FAQ
Until when can the Bachelor's degree program in Business Law for Technical Professions in the 19W version be completed?
The transition period is 8 semesters. You therefore have the opportunity to complete the Bachelor's degree program in version 19W by 30.09.2026. The prerequisite for this is continuous enrolment!
Do I have to have my credits recognized after the transfer?
No, this is not necessary with this change to the curriculum version. However, there are some options according to the equivalence list, so please complete the transfer form. All other credits will be transferred by the Dean's Office (rewi.studium(at)uni-graz.at) according to their assignments.
Does the enrolment count start again when I transfer?
The enrolment count starts once at zero for courses whose course type has changed (e.g. from KS to VU). For the same examinations (i.e. same course type, same ECTS, same examination), enrolments continue to be counted regardless of the curriculum version!
You can find a detailed overview in the last column of the examination schedule for the Bachelor's degree program 22W.
