Digital exams
We have been working with electronic examinations since 2011. In the 2020/21 academic year, more than 10,000 examinations from over 40 different courses were taken electronically in more than 130 individual sessions. The trend is rising and we are particularly proud of this.
eExams at the faculty are processed with Perception from Questionmark®.
The advantages
You benefit from the fact that you can write faster on a laptop/computer than by hand, that you tend to receive your exam result faster and that you can concentrate even more on the content of the exam thanks to technical aids, including legal databases. This also helps the faculty, as we don't have to decipher handwriting that is difficult to read and are therefore up to 40% faster at correcting. We are constantly evaluating and optimising our services to provide you and your colleagues with a pleasant exam experience.
Bring your own device (BYOD)
B(ring) Y(our) O(wn) D(evice) enables students to take electronic examinations on their own device on campus. Students who do not have their own laptop can borrow a device.

Can you log in via UniLogin?
- Open your web browser (Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) and enter the following URL: examiner.uni-graz.at/exam. If you are unable to access the login screen (for example, because you are using a non-recommended web browser such as Microsoft Edge or Safari), install a supported browser; if that does not help, contact servicedesk@uni-graz.at.
- Log in with your UNIGRAZonline credentials. To do this, multi-factor authentication must already be set up (see Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication).
- Even if you don’t see any exams via UniLogin yet, you can check whether you can access the Exam Account with your login credentials.
- If everything worked without any error messages and your username is visible in the upper right corner, your system is ready for the BYOD exam.
