Digital exams
We have been working with electronic examinations since 2011. In the 2020/21 academic year, more than 10,000 examinations from over 40 different courses were taken electronically in more than 130 individual sessions. The trend is rising and we are particularly proud of this.
eExams at the faculty are processed with Perception from Questionmark®.
The advantages
You benefit from the fact that you can write faster on a laptop/computer than by hand, that you tend to receive your exam result faster and that you can concentrate even more on the content of the exam thanks to technical aids, including legal databases. This also helps the faculty, as we don't have to decipher handwriting that is difficult to read and are therefore up to 40% faster at correcting . We are constantly evaluating and optimizing our services to provide you and your colleagues with a pleasant exam experience.
Bring your own device (BYOD)
B(ring) Y(our) O(wn) D(evice) enables students to take electronic examinations on their own device on campus. Students who do not have their own laptop can borrow a device.
Technical requirements for using your own computer:

- Open your internet browser.
- Clear the cache of your browser (you can find instructions on how to do this on the Internet).
- Enter the following URL: https: //exam.uni-graz.at/home/exam/user. If you do not get to the login window (e.g. because you are using a non-recommended Internet browser such as Microsoft Edge or Safari), install a supported browser, if this does not help, contact servicedesk(at)uni-graz.at or elektronische.pruefungen(at)uni-graz.at.
- Then enter "Testuser Internet REWI" for the name and "Test" for the password. Open a test assessment, edit it and then submit it.
- If everything works without an error message, your system is ready for the BYOD test.
... and can you log in via UniLogin?
- Open your internet browser (Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) and enter the following URL: https://exam.uni-graz.at/home/exam/saml_login. If you are unable to access the login window (e.g. because you are using a non-recommended internet browser such as Microsoft Edge or Safari), install a supported browser; if this does not help, please contact servicedesk(at)uni-graz.at or elektronische.pruefungen(at)uni-graz.at.
- Log in with your UNIGRAZonline access data. You must have already set up multi-factor authentication (see Setting up multi-factor authentication).
- Even if you will not yet see an exam via UniLogin, you can find out whether you can access the exam account with your login data.
- If everything works without an error message and your user name is visible in the top right-hand corner, your system is ready for the BYOD exam.
