REWI Fellowships 2025/26 - Call Open!

Apply now for our Fellowship Programme and join us at REWI Uni Graz!

Our Faculty offers Fellowships to ambitious early-stage-career researchers and senior researchers with outstanding international reputation.

Fellows are given the opportunity to gain experience in an international scholarly environment and to benefit from the excellent know-how at the University of Graz while living in the “knowledge city Graz”, which provides a high quality of life and a dynamic as well as scientifically and culturally vibrant environment.

The call for applications for the following Fellowships is open from October, 2 until November, 11 2024:

Land Steiermark Fellowships

  • 4-5 Fellowships, related but not restricted to Human Rights, Constitutional Law, Law & Climate Change, Legal Theory, Comparative law with a focus on Austrian law, Interdisciplinary research projects with a legal focus
  • 1 Senior Fellowship in Law and Innovation

Austrian Standards Fellowship

  • 1 Fellowship, with the goal of writing an article on the topic: “The relationship between copyright and Regulation 1049/2001 in the light of the ECJ Case C-588/21 P”

Wirtschaftskammer Steiermark Fellowship

  • 1 Fellowship, related to Commercial Law

Ernst Mosing Fellowship

  • 1 Fellowship in Law and Finance, related but not restricted to Artificial Intelligence, Smart Regulation, Business Law, Taxation and interdisciplinary approaches to legal issues.

The duration of a fellowship is between 2 and 3 months and it can take place in the summer term 2025 or the winter term 2025/26.

On 25 November 2025., the City of Graz welcomed a distinguished Ukrainian study group as part of a programme organised by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI). The visit focused on exploring Graz’s pioneering role as a Human Rights City and its practical implementation of human rights at the local level.
