Hello, Fellow: Tihao Zeng

Tihao Zeng

(c) privat

Tihao Zeng is a third-year PhD candidate in international law at the University of Geneva and joins us as Christian M.H. Fiammengo Junior Fellow this March.

Tihao Zeng's doctoral research lies at the intersection of international institutions, human rights, accountability and compliance procedures. In particular, he looks at institutional mechanisms that provide a forum for private third parties negatively affected by the act and authority of international organizations to address their grievances or disputes. During his stay at our faculty throughout which he is supervised by Erika De Wet, Head of the Department of International Law and International Relations, Zeng will focus on case studies involving the UN Security Council and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). Apart from these specific case studies, he looks deeper into such mechanisms as phenomena, and is developing a corresponding framework to better understand their functioning as well as potential future development. Zeng has past experiences at the UN Office of Legal Affairs, the International Law Commission, the Library & Archives in Geneva, and is currently working as a Teaching Assistant at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. Zeng says: “I will be very glad to exchange with and to learn from many of you in Graz. A bit about me: I enjoy hiking, cooking, travelling, learning different cultures and languages, and I am looking forward to meeting you!”

Welcome, we hope you enjoy your stay with us!
