Hello, Fellow: Pablo Martínez Ramil

Pablo Martinez Ramil

(c) privat

Land Steiermark Junior Fellow Pablo Martínez Ramil is currently staying at our Department of Civil Law, Foreign and Private International Law, where he is working on issues of algorithmic discrimination - welcome to our faculty!

Pablo Martínez Ramil is a PhD Researcher in International and European Law at Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic) and an External Lecturer at Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia). His research interest lies at the intersection of EU law and the regulation of the digital realm. His PhD thesis focuses on the problem of discriminatory Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically on assessing the suitability of the EU anti-discrimination legal framework and the AI Act for addressing instances of algorithmic discrimination.

At REWI Uni Graz, he works at the Department of Civil Law, Foreign and Private International Law under the supervision of Professor Gregor Christandl. He is analysing the elements that may hinder compliance with and enforceability of the AI Act.

Pablo describes himself as a melomaniac. He studied music during his childhood and has never truly abandoned it. In his free time, he enjoys both playing and discovering new music. He also likes travelling, watching films, and spending time with his friends.
