The REWI Mentoring Program
Especially at the beginning of your studies, you ask yourself many questions such as: "I want to complete this degree quickly and well, what is the best way to do this? ", "How much time do I need to prepare for the exam? ", "How do I register for a course or exam? ", "What is UNIGRAZonline and how does it even work? " . Because we can't answer all your questions here, we motivate the most suitable people to help you: your colleagues who were in the same situation a few semesters ago and most likely had the same questions!
For young padawans
To become a:e young:r Padawan, you must log in to our application portal with your UNIGRAZonline data and fill out the registration form (a VPN connection is required off-campus) after your complete enrollment and up to about 2 weeks before the start of the semester. Approximately one week before the start of the semester, we will contact you, introduce you to your mentor and hope that the chemistry between you is right.
During the semester, mentors and mentees will meet in person on a regular basis. There is no specification as to how many contacts should take place, this is up to you and your needs.
PS: There are usually enough places available for everyone who is interested! :-)
For mentors
Why become a mentor?
- You take on social responsibility,
- You develop important key skills for your studies and later career entry,
- You will receive exclusive mentoring training with a final certificate, thereby enhancing your CV,
- You will receive 3 ECTS points for your studies.
To be able to apply as a mentor, you must have completed at least 60 ECTS points in your diploma (or bachelor's) degree program and have a good dose of motivation for the "job". If you're asking yourself: "Why do these ECTS also annoy me when choosing a mentor?", the answer is very simple: As a mentor, you must have lived through a certain amount of our university life, ECTS are a good reflection of this. As a mentor, you must be willing to take on 2 to 3 young padawans and participate in the mentor workshops and mentor jour fixe meetings.
Registration for the mentoring program takes place approximately one and a half months before the start of the semester. To do this, you must log in to our application portal with your UNIGRAZonline login details and fill out the application form (a VPN connection is required off campus).
After the application deadline for mentees (approximately two weeks before the start of the semester), all applications will be reviewed and all applicants will be informed of the results.
