The Major in Law
In the law major area, the skills acquired in your preliminary studies are expanded, supplemented, and deepened at Master’s level. In the specialisation area, one of the many specialisation focuses of the Diploma in Law programme may be chosen, along with a course from the Master’s in Computational Social Systems, such as “Introduction to Law and Computer Science for Students with Computer Science Background”, “Fundamental Rights and the Data Economy”, or a “Legal Lab”.
The minor
The minor can be completed in one of the three areas of choice:
Minor “Business Administration”: An introduction to business administration, sociology, economics, and statistics is provided, and it is possible to specialise in accounting, finance, marketing, production and logistics, or management.
Minor “Economics”: It is possible to specialise in either microeconomics or macroeconomics.
Minor “Sociology”: This minor provides a broad education in the basics of sociology, as well as an introduction to business administration, economics, and statistics. As a specialisation, courses from the module “Social Analysis” or “Aspects of Sociology” may be chosen.
Master's thesis
The Master’s thesis demonstrates the ability to work independently on an academic topic. A common time to begin is towards the end of the programme, although the exact timing is flexible. The topic is determined together with the supervisor.
The topic of the Master’s thesis and the confirmation of supervision are only considered fixed once an agreement has been reached on the acceptance of supervision. Only then will the announcement of the topic of the Master's thesis be entered in UNIGRAZonline.
