REWI for Business
Our research activities support and strengthen companies and individuals, in particular lawyers, notaries and judges. We promote the exchange between academia and practice through various channels, such as the "Private Law Dialogue" or the "International Labor Law Dialogue", in which we discuss current topics with practitioners.
We offer training on various topics, such as cross-border family mediation (CODEMAL) and cross-border enforcement proceedings within the EU (EU EN4s and TRAIN to EN4CE). We also support law faculties in modernizing their curricula for future judges, prosecutors and investigators (CRIMHUM).
We also make our expertise available to political decision-makers, not only on proposed legislation, but also on current regulations and prevailing implementation practices. In the JuWiLi project, for example, we analyzed the social and economic benefits of non-contentious proceedings for notaries and developed a set of indicators to measure their effectiveness. In the ETAPAS project, on the other hand, we support the public administration in using technological, potentially revolutionary innovations responsibly by developing an ethical and legal framework for their evaluation.
We also support business-friendly solutions to pressing information society issues: in the SOTER project, we worked with European research institutes and companies to improve information security, data protection and cybersecurity practices in the financial services sector.
