Senior Fellows (post-doctoral researchers, lecturers, assistant professors and professors):
- Exceptional achievements in the respective field of research and a recognized international reputation
- Either excellent knowledge of German or excellent knowledge of English
Junior Fellows (either doctoral candidates working on a law dissertation or young practitioners with at least two years of practical experience after graduating from law school):
- LL.B. (first-class honors), LL.M. or equivalent law degree
- Either an ongoing doctorate in the field of law or at least two years of professional experience
- Excellent German or English language skills
The duration of the fellowships is between 1 and 3 months. The Dean's Fellowship can last up to one year.
Senior Fellows are provided with their own workplace in an office; Junior Fellows a workplace in the library (office workplace only if available).
Senior Fellows receive € 1,800 per month, Junior Fellows € 1,500 per month. Travel costs to and from Graz can be covered if a presentation at the Faculty will be held during the stay.
The next application period begins on 1 September 2025 and ends on 16 November 2025.

- Confirmation of supervision(see form) from a faculty member of the REWI Uni Graz

Other topics are also suitable for the fellowship, provided that there is a clear and well-founded advantage for working on the topic at the REWI University of Graz.
This Fellowship is designed to support the development of a paper about a specific topic, commissioned by Austrian Standards. A mutually beneficial relationship should be established, in which the Fellow has the opportunity to conduct research on this topic while having a fully funded travel to and stay in Graz, Austrian Standards receives valuable output in the form of the paper.
The research topic should be related to business law.
With appropriate justification, other topics are also suitable for which a fellowship at the REWI Uni Graz would be advantageous.
Possible research topics include artificial intelligence, smart regulation, business law, taxation and interdisciplinary approaches to legal issues.

The research topic must be in the field of comparative inheritance law or comparative or European international inheritance law.
The Fellowship is awarded exclusively to Junior Fellows.
The research topic must be related to international law and in particular aim to promote international understanding. Topics in the field of peace keeping and conflict management as well as international humanitarian law are of particular interest.
The fellowship is awarded exclusively to Junior Fellows.
The research topic should be related to business law.
