Workshop Institut für Arbeitsrecht "Working Time, Availability and Private Life"

Der Workshop widmet sich aktuellen Fragen zu den rechtlichen Grenzen der Erreichbarkeit von Arbeitnehmer:innen und zu Ruhezeiten.

 Univ.-Ass. Dr. Verena Vinzenz wird zum Thema Availability and Rest Periods in CJEU Case Law sprechen. Im zweiten Vortrag behandelt Assistant Professor Dr. David Mangan (Maynooth University) The Right to Disconnect as a Limit to Availability. Prof. Mangan ist Gründungsdirektor des Technology Law & Policy Centre an der Maynooth University; seine Forschung beschäftigt sich insbesondere mit dem Einfluss digitaler Technologien auf das Arbeitsrecht.

Prof. David Mangan ist derzeit Land Steiermark Fellow am Institut für Arbeitsrecht und Sozialrecht der Universität Graz, wo er gemeinsam mit Univ.-Ass. Dr. Vinzenz zum Right to Disconnect forscht und insbesondere untersucht, welche arbeitsrechtlichen Ansprüche Arbeitnehmer:innen in diesem Zusammenhang zukünftig geltend machen könnten.

The workshop will address current developments concerning the legal boundaries of employee availability and rest periods. Univ.-Ass. Dr. Verena Vinzenz will discuss Availability and Rest Periods in CJEU Case Law. In the second presentation, Assistant Professor Dr. David Mangan (Maynooth University) will explore The Right to Disconnect as a Limit to Availability. Prof. Mangan is founding Director of the Technology Law & Policy Centre at Maynooth University and his research focuses on the interaction between digital technologies and employment law.

Prof. Mangan is currently a Land Steiermark Fellow at the Institute of Labour Law and Social Law at the University of Graz, where he is conducting research together with Univ.-Ass. Dr. Vinzenz on the legal foundations of the right to disconnect and the potential development of a specific employment law claim in this area.
