The overwhelming majority of Greeks adhere to the Orthodox Church, while there are also Islamic, Roman Catholic and other religious minorities. The lecture will focus on Orthodoxy in everyday life, on religious education, worship, sacred art, monasticism, and diaconia, as well as on the relationship between church and state/nation. Of particular note is also the international context, notably Turkey and the European Union.
